Jizaikagi Hook Trammel Hook Seabream for Irori Fireplace VA473

A tool used to hang a pot or kettle from the top of an irori. It consists of a bamboo tube and a pole with a hook. The stick is held in place by the frictional resistance of the crosspiece. In many places, fish are used because of the popular belief that a fish-shaped crosspiece prevents fire.
