守川周重 Morikawa Chikashige (act. ca. 1869-82)
Student of Toyohara Kunichika. His surname was Morikawa and his first name was Otojiro. He was also known as Kichosai-喜蝶斎、Kichoro-喜蝶楼、Ichibaisai-一梅斎、Ichibairo-一梅楼. He painted from 1869 to 1882, including three series of actor pictures, theatrical pictures, illustrations for ‘Eiri Shinbun’ (illustrated newspaper), illustrations for novels and cover paintings.
